Samantha Cullen

Role: Board Member

Representing: Business Representative

Sam was born and raised in beautiful Somerset and, after moving away in her early twenties to work in TV and film in London, she could no longer stay away from home and returned with a desire to see under-represented communities have a voice.

Since then, having worked in local government and national charities, leading the way in good governance and community services, she took a leap of faith and was responsible for running and growing a local business for 10 years.

Now she has returned to her community roots, volunteering for multiple community projects throughout Mendip, including the soup kitchen for the Crispin Community Centre. She sits on the local Chamber of Commerce board and acts as Vice-Chair for the Museums in Somerset group, trailblazing for small community museums alongside their larger peers.

In her day job, she is a member of the Senior Leadership Team for a local heritage charity, running the operations, finance, retail development, HR, visitor services and audience development, and is a key member of the project team working to deliver a £5.5 million new museum in Street by 2025.
